Music Director - Stephen Gunzenhauser 

 

Music Director and Conductor of the Endless Mountain Music Festival; Conductor and Music Director of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra since 1979; fifth most recorded American conductor and nominated for a Grammy in 2003; Bachelor of Music Degree from Oberlin College; Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory; Honorary Doctorate Degree from Widener University; awarded three full bright grants; has an Artist's Diploma from the Motzarteum, Salsburg, Austria. Conducted at the Teatro Colon with the Muenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, and with the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra of Colombia; conducted a full-scale production of Puccini's Tosca at the Wittgenstein Theater near Dresden, Germany; performed at a Hungarian Music Festival sponsored by the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra and the Danubius Orchestra at the Frnz Liszt Academy of Budapest in the premiere of the Mazetti completion of Mahler's Tenth Symphony. 

Intern Coordinator - Morgann Davis - Flute

Owner of Davis Flute Studio; performs regularly with the Pennsylvania Symphony, the Opera Lancaster and the Lancaster Symphony; served on faculty at the Ohio State University Flute Workshop, also at Marantha University and Lancaster Bible College. 

 

Violin - Diana Seitz - Concertmaster of EMMF Orchestra

 

Diana Seitz was a soloist with a chamber orchestra in Moscow Russia at the age of nine; laureate of the Azerbaijan National Violin Competition; has a Bachelor's Degree is Violin Performance Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, a Master's Degree and DMA in Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma; Assistant Concert Master of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra, and first violinist of the Crouse String Quartet; Assistant Professor of Applied Violin at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Texas; serves as the Associate Concertmaster of the Valley Symphony Orchestra. 

Viola - Ignacio Cuello Miralvés - Principal, EMMF Viola Section

Miralvés hails from Monzon, Spain. Enrolled in the Doctorate Degree Program at West Virginia; graduate teaching assistant; master of music, Clevland Insitute of Music; assisted the National Repertory Orchestra & Music Academy; 2016 winner of WVU Young Artist Competition.

Cello - Gita Ladd - Principal, EMMF Cello Section 

Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; served on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University; 2006 joined the faculty at UMBC, University of Maryland Baltimore County. In 2016, joined the faculty at CCBC; performed throughout the US, Europe, Russia, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan as a recitalist and as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; collaborated as Principal Cello with the Washington Concert Opera, Post Classical Ensemble of Washington, D.C. and the former Baltimore Opera Company; performs at the Kennedy Center; 2017, featured artist, VentiCordi Festival in Maine. 

Double Bass - Brent Edmondson - Principal, EMMF Double Bass Section

Masters Degree, Boston University; Principal Double Bass, Lancaster Symphony and Pennsylvania Philharmonic, and an A-list substitute with the Philadelphia Orchestra; 2016. Philadelphia Orchestra on a 3 week tour of China and Japan; Education Director and Music Librarian for the Pennsylvania Philharmonic; launched two summer camps, the Tri-State Masterclass with Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Orchestral Bowing Workshop with National Symphony Orchestra. 

Flute - Frances Tate - Principal, EMMF Flute Section

Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State, Master's Degree from Peabody Institute; Second flutist of Chapter Orchestra of Philadelphia, piccolo of Lancaster Symphony; substitute for PA Ballet Orchestra and Baltimore Symphony.

Clarinet - Doris Hall-Gulati 

 

Bachelor's Degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music; Master's Degree in Music from the University of Michigan; Phi Kappa Lambda; soloist and chamber musician, throughout the US, China and Russia; Principal Clarinet in the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia; Bass Clarinetist in the Opera Company of Philadelphia; served as Principal Clarinetist in several summer Opera festivals; Artist in Residence at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and also teaches at the Lancaster Bible College. 

Oboe - Jeffery O'Donnell - Principal, EMMF Oboe Section 

Principal Obie of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra since 1988. Mr. O'Donnell is also Principal Oboe in the Delaware Symphony Orchestra a position he has held since 2000; Temple University Bachelor of Music and a Master  of Music in Oboe Performance; staff member of the Lancaster Conservatory of Music; Faculty, University of Delaware 2014.

French Horn - Rebecca Dodson-Webster - Principal, EMMF Horn Section

Rebecca holds a DMA in horn performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served on the faculties of the University of Idaho and the University of Louisiana at Monroe; and has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the United States.  She has performed in solo and chamber music concerts in Canada, Europe, and Scandinavia,  including International Horn Society workshops in Kansas City and Banff.  Dr. Dodson-Webster joined the MU faculty in 2005, and is teaching horn, music theory, brass methods, and chamber music.

 

Trumpet - Luis Engelke - Principal, EMMF Trumpet Section

Professor of Trumpet and Director o the Master of Music Program at Towson University; Principal Trumpet of the Kennett Symphony Orchestra, and Associate Principal Trumpet of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra; performed with more than 40 professional orchestras, including the symphonies of Baltimore, Delaware, Maryland, Harrisburg, Phoenix, San Diego, and Sydney, and the Thailand Philharmonic; popular works include appearances with the Moody Blues and Ricky Martin.

Trombone - David Sciannella - Principal, EMMF Trombone Section 

Bachelor of Music from Catholic University, and Master of Music from Eastman School of Music; serves as Principal Trombone with National Philharmonic Strathmore Hall, the Wolf Trap Orchestra, and the National Gallery Orchestra; second trombone in the Annapolis Symphony; subs with the Baltimore Symphony and the National Symphony; Professor of Trombone at George Washington University. 

Bassoon - Robin Plant - Principal, EMMF Bassoon Section 

Serves as principal bassoon with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra since 2010, and with the Pennsylvania Regional Ballet Orchestra since 2008; featured soloist with the Lancaster Symphony and the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra; performs with various ensembles such as Harrisburg, York and Delaware Symphonies. 

Percussion - Xueqing Wu - Principal, EMMF Percussion Section

Hails from Sichuan, China; Shanghai Conservatory of Music for her Bachelor's Degree; subbed for Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shanghai Opera; received Master's Degree from Temple University. Granted the position of sectional percussionist of the Shanghai Symphony; associate member of the Civic Orchestra in Chicago, Illinois. 

Piano - XiXi Zhou 

Hails from China, and currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts. Studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the New England Conservatory, and is currently on the staff at South Shore Conservatory in Boston. Past Winner of the Wideman Piano Competition, Shreveport, Louisiana.
